GableStage kicks off its exciting 25th season with the Miami premiere of How I Learned What I Learned, the autobiographical one-man show by the late Pulitzer Prize winning playwright August Wilson. How I Learned What I Learned opens on Friday, September 29 and runs through Sunday, October 22, with performances Wednesday through Sunday.
The play is a heartfelt theatrical memoir charting one man’s journey of self-discovery through adversity, and what it means to be a Black artist in America. Helmed by director Carey Brianna Hart with Miami's own Robert Strain as the star, this compelling monologue takes audiences on a voyage seen through Wilson's eye's from his days as a young poet in the Pittsburgh Hill District to his encounters with racism, music, love and transformative friendships.
