From: Noon to 5:00 PM
Photographs capturing the everyday realities of migration offer an intimate perspective on identity and belonging in this exhibition at HistoryMiami Museum. On view through August 2, the presentation features work by photographer Carlos Muñoz, whose images are rooted in the communities of Redland, a migrant market area on the outskirts of Miami.
Muñoz, drawing from his own experience as a migrant, documents moments that reflect themes of displacement, family separation and cultural connection. Rather than presenting migration as a single event, the photographs explore it as an ongoing process shaped by memory, movement and adaptation. The individuals portrayed are connected through shared experiences that unfold across time and place.
Through this photo essay, the exhibition examines how notions of home and identity evolve, inviting viewers to consider the emotional dimensions of migration and the ways people navigate continuity and change.
