The life and music of composer Kurt Weill are celebrated in a staged revue at the Miami Beach Bandshell. Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill traces his journey from Germany to the United States through songs that reflect his distinctive blend of cabaret, theater and popular styles.
Narration ties together performances by four vocalists and a six-piece instrumental ensemble, with stage direction by Ricky J. Martinez and music direction by Elaine Rinaldi. Presented in honor of the 125th anniversary of Weill’s birth and the 75th of his death, the program highlights his enduring legacy as a composer who bridged continents and genres.
