A lonely birthday celebration unravels through puppetry, balloons and increasingly surreal attempts to keep the party alive. The comic puppet play for adults runs Friday, April 9 through Sunday, April 11 at The Moss Center, with creators Dorothy James and Andy Manjuck jointly bringing its anxious host to life.
Bill has decorated the room, prepared the punch and set out the cake, but his guests have yet to arrive. As he waits, multiple puppetry styles and unruly party objects turn the occasion into an exploration of impatience, loneliness and the passage of time, balancing physical comedy with moments of unease and tenderness.
Performance times are:
- Friday, April 9 from 7:30 to 8:25 p.m.
- Saturday, April 10 from 7:30 to 8:25 p.m.
- Sunday, April 11 from 3:30 to 4:25 p.m.
