BLUE Concert: Constellations in BLUE
Feb 03, 2026
Starting: 7:00 PM
An intimate concert traces a personal and musical constellation of influence as New World Symphony Fellows present Constellations in BLUE at the New World Center. Blending live performance with an ongoing recording project, the evening explores the artistic threads that have shaped pianist and curator Shih-Man, moving fluidly between early Romantic works and contemporary pieces that draw from jazz, pop and classical traditions.
Selections from the forthcoming digital album Constellations of Influence anchor the program, alongside new live collaborations with New World Symphony alumni. Highlights include solo piano works by Michael Tilson Thomas, reflecting his lasting impact on the NWS community, as well as a newly commissioned piece for celesta by alumna Molly Turner. Together, the works form a musical map of mentorship, memory and creative evolution.
Part of the NWS BLUE initiative, the concert reflects the program’s focus on experimentation, leadership and entrepreneurial thinking within classical music. Tickets are pay-what-you-wish, with all proceeds supporting New World Symphony Fellows and the development of future artistic leaders.
