Brazilian Girls: A Tropical Groove Experience
May 01, 2026
From: 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM
A tropical fusion of dance grooves, jazz and global rhythms takes the stage during an intimate open-air concert at Palapa in Miami. Brazilian Girls: A Tropical Groove Experience will be presented Friday, May 1 with two performances scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The evening highlights music by Brazilian Girls, the internationally known New York-formed band recognized for blending eclectic influences ranging from Latin and Caribbean rhythms to dub, lounge, pop and improvisational jazz. Since emerging from New York City’s downtown music scene in the early 2000s, the group has built a global following and received a Grammy nomination for their genre-crossing sound.
Now performing as a trio featuring founding members Jesse Murphy, Didi Gutman and Aaron Johnston, the band continues to explore new instrumental material alongside selections from its catalog. The performance takes place beneath Palapa’s open-air, thatched-roof pavilion within the Upper Buena Vista enclave, an outdoor setting defined by tropical greenery and artisan spaces that creates a close-up concert experience. Food and beverages will be available for purchase during the event.
