Bugging Out

Giant robotic insects, hands-on activities and after-hours adventures take over Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in a limited-time celebration of the insect world.

Bugging Out runs through September 28 on select dates and transforms the garden into a bug-themed playground featuring towering bug sculptures, a walk-through butterfly pavilion and interactive encounters with live insects. Families can enjoy nature crafts, specimen stations and insect workshops, while kids are invited to dress up and march in Bugs on Parade! every Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The Bugging Out: LIVE! tram safari, offered Friday through Monday at select times, gives guests a guided ride through the garden’s habitats with a focus on insect survival and behavior. Seating is limited and timed tickets are available at the Bugging OUT-post.

Additional programming includes Bug Talks hosted by Fairchild staff and volunteers, illuminated trail walks during Wander & Glow, and evening movie screenings at Nighttime Bug Safari featuring family-friendly insect films.

For adults, the Bug-N-Grub Night Crawl offers a 21+ garden party with themed cocktails, picnic baskets and cult-favorite films like BUG (August 26) and Arachnophobia (September 27). Specialized evening events such as Date Night, Mini Cocktail Flight, Picnic Baskets for 2 and Grab-N-Go Combo require separate ticketing

General admission includes access to Bugging Out. Tickets are $39.99 for adults; members receive free admission and special discounts.
