Candlelight: 90s Hip-Hop on Strings at Pinecrest Gardens

Hip-hop’s most influential tracks from the 1990s are reinterpreted through live, candlelit string arrangements in an open-air garden setting.

Candlelight: 90s Hip-Hop on Strings takes place at Pinecrest Gardens, where the Collins Quartet presents a 60-minute program performed under the glow of candlelight. The concert transforms influential tracks from hip-hop’s golden era into string medleys, emphasizing rhythm, melody and texture while drawing on the natural ambiance of the gardens.

The program features music by artists including Lauryn Hill and the Fugees, Jay-Z, Nas, Outkast, Missy Elliott, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The performance is scheduled for Friday, April 17, with doors opening one hour prior to showtime. Seating is assigned on a first come, first served basis within each zone, and late entry is not permitted once the concert begins. The event is open to guests ages 8 and older, and Pinecrest Gardens is ADA accessible.
