Oct 18, 2025
From: 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The 2025/2026 Jazz at Pinecrest Gardens season opens with a performance by Cécile McLorin Salvant, a singular voice in contemporary jazz known for her genre-defying style and expressive range. Blending jazz with elements of blues, baroque, folk and vaudeville, she brings a theatrical presence to the stage that showcases both technical precision and emotional nuance.
This season-opening concert takes place Saturday, October 18 in the Banyan Bowl Amphitheater. Salvant will perform selections from her latest album Mélusine, alongside reimagined classics and lesser-known songs that reflect her interest in storytelling and overlooked musical histories. A Miami native, Salvant rose to international recognition after winning the Thelonious Monk competition in 2010 and has since earned three Grammy Awards and a MacArthur Fellowship.
Whether singing in French, English or Creole, Salvant offers a bold, multilayered performance style that bridges musical eras and cultures. Single ticket information will be available in August 2025.
