Circus of Words with Raw Figs

A figure drawing and poetry session set within an aerial arts studio invites participants to explore the human form through both visual art and language. Taking place Sunday, April 19, Circus of Words with Raw Figs is part of the O, Miami Poetry Festival and brings together live performance, drawing and collaborative writing.

Attendees are invited to sketch aerial acrobats from Circensia Studio while engaging in a guided process of decoding words and building collective poems inspired by movement and gesture. The session is open to all skill levels, with materials provided, and encourages a relaxed, participatory approach to both drawing and writing.

Hosted by Raw Figs, a South Florida-based pop-up initiative focused on accessible figure drawing experiences, the event reflects the O, Miami Poetry Festival’s emphasis on interdisciplinary and community-driven programming.
