Clean Miami Beach: Julia Tuttle Causeway Cleanup
Sep 19, 2026
From: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Volunteers can help remove marine debris from the Julia Tuttle Causeway as part of the 41st International Coastal Cleanup, a global effort focused on protecting oceans and waterways. Organized by Clean Miami Beach on Saturday, September 19, the cleanup is one of more than 65 volunteer events planned throughout Miami-Dade County for the annual initiative.
Participants will collect litter while also having the option to contribute data through the Ocean Conservancy’s CleanSwell app, which tracks the types and quantities of debris removed. Garbage bags, gloves and other cleanup supplies will be provided, and community service hours are available. Registration and an online waiver are required to participate.
Volunteers should bring water in a reusable container, wear closed-toe shoes and dress for outdoor conditions. The meeting point is on the eastbound, south side of the Julia Tuttle Causeway heading toward Miami Beach, with a turtle flag marking the group. Because parking is located near the highway, participants should follow onsite volunteer directions when arriving and parking.
