Community Memory Circle: Juneteenth Launch
Jun 19, 2026
Starting: 1:00 PM
Family heirlooms, neighborhood memories and personal stories become the focus of a Juneteenth gathering at OVRTWN Corner. Community Memory Circle: Juneteenth Launch takes place Friday, June 19, in Historic Overtown, presented by The Black Archives. The event introduces a guided storytelling format where participants are invited to bring a family object or artifact and share the history connected to it.
Designed as an intimate “show and tell with depth,” the Community Memory Circle creates space for reflection, cultural preservation and intergenerational exchange. Through personal objects and shared narratives, the program honors family histories, neighborhood traditions and the lived experiences that shape community memory.
The event takes place at OVRTWN Corner, a community-centered gathering space where culture, commerce and conversation meet. Anchored by local vendors and neighborhood programming, the venue reflects Overtown’s ongoing role as a place for connection, storytelling and community life.
