A foundational force in crossover thrash brings its relentless energy to Gramps Wynwood as Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, better known as D.R.I., returns to Miami.
The veteran band headlines on Thursday, December 11. Presented by The Limitless Agency and Breakeven Booking, the 18+ show is priced at $20 in advance, $22 on the day of and $25 at the door.
Formed in 1982 in Houston, D.R.I. helped define the crossover movement, fusing the speed and intensity of hardcore punk with the technical precision of thrash metal. Albums like Crossover (1987) and Thrash Zone (1989) remain genre touchstones, and the band’s live performances are known for their stamina, volume and breakneck pacing. Founding members Kurt Brecht and Spike Cassidy continue to lead a lineup whose influence spans both punk and metal circles.
Opening sets come from Scattered Guts and Killed by Florida, two acts rooted in the raw, high-octane spirit of underground hardcore.
