Design District Discoveries Walking Tour
Apr 18, 2026
From: 10:00 AM to Noon
A guided walking tour explores the evolution of one of Miami’s most visually striking neighborhoods at the Miami Design District. The Design District Discoveries Walking Tour takes place Saturday, April 18, beginning in front of Luminaire Lab.
Led by HistoryMiami Museum Resident Historian Dr. Paul S. George, the tour traces the area’s transformation from the historic Buena Vista neighborhood into an internationally recognized destination for architecture, design and luxury retail. Along the route, participants will learn about the district’s master planning by architects Andrés Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, hear stories about developer Craig Robins and view notable public art installations and architectural landmarks.
Dr. George, a Miami native, author and former college professor, is known for his engaging storytelling and deep knowledge of South Florida history. For more than three decades, his walking, coach and boat tours have introduced audiences to the region’s neighborhoods, landmarks and cultural heritage.
The ticket includes a complimentary family pass to HistoryMiami Museum. American Sign Language interpretation will be available during the program.
