A documentary screening explores the long-awaited return of Rockers Revenge, a pioneering group from New York’s 1980s dance music scene. The film Rockers Don’t Stop screens Thursday, May 14 at the Miami Beach Bandshell as part of the Doc N’ Roll Festival. Presented by Rhythm Foundation in collaboration with Doc N Roll Festival, the event highlights a story of resilience, collaboration and creative renewal.
Rockers Don’t Stop follows the members of Rockers Revenge as they reunite decades later to record their debut album. Set against contemporary moments including the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement, the film connects past and present through music shaped by loss, persistence and shared history.
The film is directed by Arthur Baker, a DJ and producer whose work has influenced multiple genres, with credits including collaborations with New Order, Afrika Bambaataa, Bruce Springsteen and Al Green. Spanning more than three decades of cultural and musical history, the documentary examines friendship, artistic endurance and the legacy of an influential era in New York’s music scene.
