Dvorak's New World Symphony
Nov 15, 2025 - Nov 16, 2025
Saturday: 7:30 PM | Sunday: 2:00 PM
A concert exploring the spirit of musical innovation will bring together 19th-century Romanticism, contemporary composition and one of the most celebrated symphonies inspired by America’s musical landscape.
Dvořák's New World Symphony will be performed on Saturday, November 15, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 16, at 2:00 p.m. at the New World Center. Presented as part of the New World Symphony’s 2025–2026 season, the program features Fellows of the New World Symphony under the baton of conductor Domingo Hindoyan. The performance includes Rene Orth’s Chasing Light, Detlev Glanert’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra featuring guest soloist Johannes Moser and Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor, “From the New World.”
Hindoyan, Chief Conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, is known for his work with major ensembles and opera houses around the world. Moser, an acclaimed German-Canadian cellist, has appeared with leading orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmonic and Los Angeles Philharmonic and is noted for his dedication to both core repertoire and contemporary music.
This program bridges musical eras and geographies, culminating in Dvořák’s landmark symphony—an enduring work shaped by his experience in the United States and his engagement with its musical traditions.
