Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits
May 16, 2026 - Sep 07, 2026
Starting: 10:00 AM
An interactive exhibition at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science (Frost Science) explores the science behind extreme sports through hands-on challenges and immersive environments. On view May 16 through September 7 at Frost Science, Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits examines how athletes push physical and mental boundaries in high-risk disciplines.
Developed by Science North in partnership with the Ontario Science Centre, the exhibition features interactive stations that test strength, balance, reaction time and decision-making, alongside simulations that recreate conditions faced in activities such as wingsuit flying, rock climbing, parkour and freediving. Visitors can also view authentic equipment and learn how engineering, physics and human physiology contribute to performance and safety.
The experience includes a dedicated “Science of Soccer” area, reflecting a global year for sport, with interactive gameplay elements that demonstrate principles such as force, motion and coordination. Presented in the museum’s special exhibition gallery, the installation combines education and physical engagement, offering insight into the limits and possibilities of human performance.
