Family Day: Fiber, Texture & Storytelling
Jul 11, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Hands-on fiber activities, artist-led tours and storytelling invite families to explore textile art together at Miami International Fine Arts. Family Day: Fiber, Texture & Storytelling takes place Saturday, July 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of the Miami Fiber Triennial 2026.
Led by artists Aurora Molina and Alina Rodriguez-Rojo, the free program introduces children and caregivers to weaving, textiles and contemporary fiber practices through guided tours, demonstrations and interactive learning. Activities are designed for children of all ages and abilities, with an emphasis on creativity, collaboration and sensory exploration.
Presented by the Fiber Artists Miami Association, the event also marks America250 with a community-focused celebration of art, culture and intergenerational learning. Guests can expect refreshments, prizes, T-shirts and art activities in an accessible setting where families can create together and learn how fiber art connects tradition, innovation and imagination.
