FIU Dundas Studio Recital
Oct 11, 2026
From: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
French art song and poetry shape an autumn-themed recital featuring singers from the voice studio of Professor Robert B. Dundas at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center. Presented Sunday, October 11, as part of FIU’s 2026-2027 music and performing arts season, Mélodies d’Automne pairs student vocalists with pianist Masami Miyazaki.
The program draws from the French mélodie tradition with works by Fauré, Debussy, Duparc, Chausson, Hahn, Poulenc and other composers. Through settings centered on love, memory, nature and reflection, the selections explore the close relationship between poetry and music that defines the genre.
The recital offers an intimate showcase of FIU voice students while highlighting contrasting approaches to French vocal music from the late 19th and 20th centuries.
