Freedom Family Days at the Freedom Tower
May 17, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM
A family-friendly program of storytelling, art activities and guided tours takes place at the Freedom Tower. Held Sunday, May 17, Free Family Days offers a range of interactive experiences designed for visitors of all ages.
The event includes a storytime session with local author Simone Russell, hands-on artmaking activities and a botany lesson led by Joy D. Klein of the Environmentally Endangered Lands Program. Specialized tours throughout the day highlight different aspects of the building and its exhibitions, from contemporary works in the Kislak Center by artists Julie Buffalohead and Rose B. Simpson to presentations of Miami’s cultural narratives in the Knight Skylight Gallery.
Presented at one of the city’s historic landmarks, the program provides opportunities for families to engage with art, history and the environment in a single setting. Admission is free, with complimentary parking available in Miami Dade College’s Lot 1 adjacent to the Freedom Tower.
