Goyo

Afro-Colombian singer, rapper and songwriter Goyo brings her solo work and genre-blending Latin sound to ZeyZey Miami’s Zaku Stage. Goyo takes place Thursday, June 25 at 8 p.m., featuring the ChocQuibTown co-founder in a performance rooted in Afro-Latin identity, tropical rhythms, rap and contemporary Latin music. 

Born Gloria Martínez in Chocó, Colombia, Goyo became widely known as a founding member of the Grammy-winning group ChocQuibTown, whose music helped bring Afro-Colombian sounds to international audiences. Her work blends rap, tropical music, alternative influences and Colombian traditions while addressing themes of identity, resilience, inclusion and representation.

As a solo artist, Goyo has continued to expand her sound. Her HBO Max project En Letra de Otro paired reinterpretations of meaningful songs with a documentary shown at the Miami Film Festival, and her debut solo studio album Pantera explores Afro-Latin heritage through Afrobeat, Latin rhythms and Colombian musical roots.

ZeyZey Miami is an open-air cultural venue in Little River with food and drinks available on-site, including grass-fed, seed-oil-free tacos from Tacos María.
