Herencia Cubana IV by Florida Chamber Orchestra
This event has passed.
Join conductor Marlene Urbay with the Florida Chamber Orchestra as they present Herencia Cubana IV at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium on Sunday, October 8. As part of the Cuban Heritage concert series, Herencia Cubana IV highlights important composers of the 19th century with a spotlight on the music of Lico Jimenez, a Cuban composer who was a significant influence on 19th century Cuban music but is relatively unknown outside of Cuba. The concert's program will feature Jimenez' unpublished music. A CD of Jimenez's works will also be available at the concert.
Cuban musicologist, Isidro Betancourt, is responsible for researching and rescuing Jimenez' music from obscurity. He's been joined by Maestro Urbay in bringing this project to fruition.
