Through Oct 06, 2025
weekly on Monday
From: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Painting techniques from Spanish masters provide the foundation for a pair of creative workshops celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
Hispanic Heritage Art Class with MIFA takes place at the Doral Cultural Arts Center on September 15, 22, 29 and October 6. Led by artist William Alonso, the first session explores the styles of El Greco and Zurbarán, focusing on the expressive use of light, shadow and emotion and their influence on Latin American art. The second installment highlights Murillo’s distinctive approach to light, color and composition, with participants engaging in hands-on practice inspired by his work.
Both classes are taught in Spanish and welcome beginners as well as experienced painters. Registration is $15 per person, with free parking available at the City Hall Garage until 9 p.m. Space is limited.
