International Coastal Cleanup at Deering Estate
Sep 19, 2026
From: 9:00 AM to Noon
Volunteers will help remove marine debris from Deering Estate’s coastal and mangrove areas during the 41st International Coastal Cleanup. Taking place Saturday, September 19, the annual service event is led by the Deering Estate Conservation Team as part of Miami-Dade County’s network of more than 65 cleanup sites coordinated by VolunteerCleanup.org and Clean Miami-Dade.
Participants will collect litter and use Ocean Conservancy’s CleanSwell app to document what they find, contributing data to a global marine debris database. Gloves, garbage bags, water refills and community service hours will be provided.
Advance registration is required. Volunteers should bring water in a reusable container, wear closed-toe shoes and dress for outdoor conditions. Free parking is available, with check-in at the Deering Estate Visitor Center at the corner of Southwest 72nd Avenue and Southwest 168th Street. Volunteers under 18 attending without a parent or guardian must bring a signed waiver.
