Jon Lehrer Dance Company

Athleticism and precision drive an evening of contemporary dance as Jon Lehrer Dance Company returns to the Sanctuary stage with a program of high-energy works. The performance takes place on Saturday, May 2 at Sanctuary of the Arts in Coral Gables.

Known for blending powerful physicality with refined musicality, the eight-member ensemble performs choreography that highlights both individual artistry and cohesive ensemble work.

The program includes Cash or Check? (2014), set in a 1920s nightclub and inspired by the phrase once used to playfully ask, “Will you kiss me now or later?” The evening also features Fused (2025), a work that combines classical and contemporary movement vocabulary set to a score merging classical and Cuban musical influences. Additional repertory selections round out the performance.

Founded 18 years ago, Jon Lehrer Dance Company has presented more than 30 original works internationally. The company’s return engagement includes guest appearances by Dance NOW! Miami and the Sanctuary of the Arts Choreographic Ensemble, highlighting collaboration within the local dance community.
