Military tributes, vehicle displays and animal encounters fill Zoo Miami’s plaza during a Fourth of July morning program. July 4th at the Zoo takes place Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with activities located in the Zoo Miami Plaza.
Held in partnership with the Miami Military Museum, the morning schedule includes a Presentation of the Colors, a swearing-in Oath of Enlistment Ceremony, military vehicle displays, a helicopter display and a Quilt of Valor presentation. Special animal appearances are also planned as part of the holiday program.
At 11:30 a.m., Dr. Anthony Atwood presents a program on Zoo Miami’s military history in the Florida Room. Zoo admission is required for guests entering past the turnstiles.
As part of the zoo’s Honor the Brave promotion, active-duty military personnel and veterans receive free zoo admission for themselves and up to six guests from July 3-6. Miami-Dade County employees receive $3 off each ticket with valid ID or discount code. Discounts are available only at the ticket window with valid military or county ID.
