Juneteenth Story & Sounds of Overtown

Overtown’s history, culture and community voices are honored through a Juneteenth celebration filled with music, storytelling, art and local vendors. Juneteenth Story & Sounds of Overtown takes place Friday, June 19 at OVRTWN Corner.
The day-long gathering invites residents, families and visitors to reflect on freedom while celebrating one of Miami’s most historic Black communities. Programming includes live music, cultural performances, community conversations, storytelling, historical exhibits, art activations and a community memory circle.
Guests can also explore marketplace vendors, local food and beverage offerings, coffee, wine tastings, entrepreneur spotlights and interactive community experiences. Families with children can visit the Little Legacies Children’s Corner, which offers activities designed to encourage creativity, learning and cultural connection.
The event is free and open to the public.
