Juneteenth Story & Sounds of Overtown

Black-owned businesses, local food and community programming come together for an all-day Juneteenth celebration in Historic Overtown. We Own The Block: Sip & Shop Juneteenth Celebration takes place Saturday, June 20 at OVRTWN Corner.

The event centers culture, commerce and community through a marketplace of local vendors, brunch offerings, music, wellness drinks, wine tastings and family-friendly activities. Guests can shop for handcrafted jewelry, accessories, body care, fragrances, artisan gifts and Historic Overtown merchandise while supporting local entrepreneurs.

Food and beverage options include brunch favorites from Chef Ty and Gigi’s Cafe, sweet potato pies, sweet treats, local bites, wellness shots, fresh juices, handcrafted lemonades, matcha, coffee, herbal teas and local wines from English Brown Winery. The Little Legacies Kids Corner offers interactive activities, hands-on creativity, popcorn, sweet treats and an ice cream truck visit while supplies last.

Community activations include networking opportunities, local organization tables and voter registration with Alpha Kappa Alpha. The celebration is designed for all ages and highlights Overtown’s role as a cultural cornerstone through food, music, small business support and neighborhood connection.
