Just for Me: Hurricanes 101
Aug 15, 2026
From: 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Sensory-friendly museum hours provide a quieter setting with adjusted sound and lighting for visitors with diverse accessibility needs. The program takes place Saturday, August 15 at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science.
This edition features Hurricanes 101, a tactile activity that lets participants observe a hurricane from above, create a small controlled storm and learn basic steps families can take to prepare for severe weather. Guests can explore the activity at their own pace and engage with the scientific concepts through hands-on discovery.
Families may also use Frost Science’s social narrative to prepare for the visit and are encouraged to connect with one another and share resources during the event.
