Key Biscayne Fourth of July Parade
This event has passed.
Decorated floats, marching groups and neighborhood traditions fill the streets of Key Biscayne for a long-running Independence Day parade. The Key Biscayne 4th of July Parade begins Saturday, July 4 at 11 a.m., traveling along Crandon Boulevard from Harbor Drive. Now in its 67th year, the parade brings together local residents, community groups and entries from across South Florida.
The tradition dates back to 1959, when Key Biscayne residents Tommy Sikes and Arthur Yehle organized a small island march with neighbors, children on decorated bicycles and a homemade band known as The Chowder Chompers. Over the decades, the volunteer-led parade has grown into one of the community’s signature annual events.
Today’s parade includes dozens of entries and is organized by a committee of Key Biscayne residents, with support from local sponsors, merchandise sales and related fundraising events. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to find a viewing spot along the route.
