Flamenco, migration and artistic collaboration come into focus in a documentary screening at the Koubek Center in Miami. La Casa del Alma screens Friday, August 21, marking the film’s one-night-only U.S. premiere. Presented by Siudy Flamenco and Koubek Center, the 60-minute documentary follows Spanish guitarist José Luis de la Paz and Venezuelan flamenco dancer Siudy Garrido through more than a decade of creative partnership.
Directed by Pablo Croce, the film traces how the two artists met in Miami and built a collaborative practice that has reached audiences in more than 30 cities. Featuring original music by de la Paz and choreography by Garrido, the documentary explores flamenco as a source of refuge, identity and cultural connection, with special appearances by Antonio Canales and Argentina.
The film has been selected for the 2026 Granada Flamenco Film Festival, featured in the Latidos section of the 51st Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival and presented at the Festival Internacional de Danza Ibérica Contemporánea in Querétaro, Mexico. Tickets are $25, with all proceeds benefiting We Love Foundation.
