Bedtime becomes a magical adventure in this original musical for young audiences that combines storytelling, song, dance and humor to explore one of childhood’s most familiar challenges—falling asleep. Filled with imagination and heart, the performance invites families to experience the ups, downs and dreams of nighttime routines through a playful lens.
La Hora de Dormir, presented at the Miami Dade College Koubek Memorial Center, will be performed on June 7, 8, 14 and 28 at 3:00 p.m. The story follows Luly, a spirited child who resists bedtime, and her exhausted mom, who just wants to end the day peacefully. Together, they navigate a world of mischievous shadows, runaway sheep and bedtime monsters—all with the help of stories and music.
Created for children ages 3 to 8, the production is informed by themes common to early childhood development and features a pop-culture-inspired design that keeps young viewers engaged. The show stars Micaela Castelloti as Mom and Anagabriel Marcoccia as Luly, with direction by Josefina Pieres and original music by Sebastián Bianchini.
The play is a collaboration between Simbios Art Corp and the Koubek Center, and showcases a multidisciplinary creative team dedicated to delivering a high-quality theatrical experience for families.
