La Trova Lírica Cubana

Experience the golden age of Cuban music with an evening of lyrical song honoring one of the island’s most celebrated composers. Renowned for their commitment to preserving Cuba’s rich vocal traditions, La Trova Lírica Cubana brings romantic Cuban songwriting to life in a rare outdoor performance.

As part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series, La Trova Lírica Cubana will perform on Sunday, June 8 at 6:00 p.m. in Lummus Park, between 14th Street and 14th Place. This concert icelebrates the 115th anniversary of Rodrigo Prats, a prolific composer and key figure in 20th-century Cuban lyricism. The program will spotlight songs from Havana’s vibrant 1950s music scene, featuring works by Prats and his contemporaries.

The ensemble has performed at prestigious venues across Europe and the U.S., including the Florence Festival in Italy, the Instituto Cervantes, the Cuban Cultural Center in New York, and the Centro Cultural Español in Miami.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets for this free, open-air concert. In case of rain, the performance will be moved indoors to The Betsy Hotel. The Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series is presented by the Ocean Drive Association with support from the City of Miami Beach and the GMCVB.
