Latin 2 Piano: A Fuego Lento

A showcase of Latin American music takes center stage at Pinecrest Gardens as Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion and Miami-Dade County Auditorium present Latin 2 Piano: A Fuego Lento.

On Sunday, March 1, Venezuelan pianists Vanessa Perez and Kristhyan Benítez perform inventive two-piano arrangements that highlight the region’s most cherished songs. The program features selections such as Violeta Parra’s “Gracias a la Vida,” Jugo Blanco’s “Moliendo Café,” Poncho Sanchez’s “Bésame Mamá,” works from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story, and the tango classic “A Fuego Lento” by Horacio Salgán. Together, the duo brings a mix of nostalgia, virtuosity and rhythmic flair to the Banyan Bowl Theater.

The performance is part of Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s Away From Home Series, which offers off-site programming in partnership with cultural venues across South Florida during MDCA’s renovation period.
