Lenard Rutledge Quintet
Jun 07, 2026
Starting: 5:00 PM
Jazz vocalist LeNard Rutledge brings his quintet to Lummus Park for a free outdoor concert on Ocean Drive. The performance takes place Sunday, June 7 at 5 p.m. as part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series in Miami Beach. Presented by the Ocean Drive Association, the weekly series invites guests to bring a blanket, lawn chair or picnic for an evening concert on the lawn.
Born and raised in Miami, Rutledge is known for a warm, expressive vocal style often compared to Lou Rawls, shaped by jazz, soul and church choir traditions. He began his music career as a percussionist before becoming a vocalist, later performing for seven years with the Melton Mustafa Orchestra. His career has included appearances with artists such as Wycliffe Gordon, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Kirk Whalum, Marion Meadows and George Duke.
The concert takes place in Lummus Park between 14th Street and 14th Place. In case of rain, the performance moves indoors to The Betsy Hotel. The series is underwritten by the City of Miami Beach, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Ocean Drive Association.
