Listening Party: Weezer - The Gold Album
Aug 15, 2026
From: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Fans can hear Weezer’s new self-titled album in its entirety, six days before its official release, during a communal listening session at Sweat Records. The gathering takes place Saturday, August 15 at the Little Haiti record store, offering an advance preview of the record commonly known as the Gold Album. Scheduled for release August 21, the 10-track album includes “We Might as Well Be Strangers,” a collaboration with Karly Hartzman of the indie rock band Wednesday.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1992, Weezer established its blend of alternative rock and melodic power pop with its 1994 self-titled debut, known as the Blue Album, followed by the influential Pinkerton. Songs including “Buddy Holly,” “Undone – The Sweater Song” and “Say It Ain’t So” remain among the band’s best-known recordings.
The informal listening party will play the forthcoming album from beginning to end and give local fans an opportunity to gather for the band’s latest release.
