Love & Basketball at Rooftop Cinema Club
Feb 13, 2026
Starting: 8:00 PM
A rooftop screening revisits a modern Black love story where romance, ambition and self-definition unfold on and off the basketball court.
Love & Basketball screens Friday, February 13 at Rooftop Cinema Club on Miami Beach as part of the venue’s Celebrating Black Cinema series, programmed in recognition of Black History Month. Written and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film traces the intertwined lives of Monica Wright and Quincy McCall from childhood through adulthood, using basketball as both a shared language and a source of tension as they pursue love, independence and professional dreams. Anchored by performances from Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps, the film explores gender, ambition and emotional vulnerability within relationships, challenging traditional narratives around success and sacrifice.
The screening takes place in Rooftop Cinema Club’s open-air setting, with seating options that include individual Adirondack chairs or double-width loveseats designed for shared viewing. Ticket packages are available with or without popcorn, allowing guests to settle in for a relaxed evening of cinema set against the Miami Beach skyline.
