From: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
A hands-on shoreline cleanup along the MacArthur Causeway marks Earth Day with a community-driven effort focused on protecting Miami’s coastal environment.
The MacArthur Causeway Cleanup: Earth Day Celebration takes place Saturday, April 18, with volunteers meeting at the Miami Children’s Museum before heading to the cleanup site. Organized by Clean This Beach Up, the initiative also celebrates the group’s seventh anniversary of environmental action across South Florida.
Designed as a high-impact effort, the cleanup targets hard-to-reach areas along the causeway and requires participants to be 18 or older. Volunteers are encouraged to bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection and water in reusable bottles, while supplies including gloves, buckets and bags will be provided. Community service hours are available for participants.
