Messages from the Future: Opening Reception

An opening reception at The ARC in Opa-locka launches Messages from the Future, Ten North Group’s inaugural Hispanic Heritage Month exhibition featuring artists from across the globe. The event takes place Friday, September 12, and offers a first look at the show alongside remarks from Ten North Group President & CEO Dr. Willie F. Logan, meet-the-artist opportunities, light refreshments and music.

Through painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics and mixed media, participating artists transmit dispatches from imagined futures, visions shaped by technology, climate change, identity, resilience and the human spirit. Some works radiate hope and possibility, while others serve as cautionary tales, together prompting reflection on what kind of future we are building and whose voices will shape it.

Curated by Máximo Caminero, the exhibition highlights artists from across Latin America, the Caribbean, the United States and Europe, making it both a celebration of heritage and a platform for dialogue. Guests are encouraged to celebrate their roots by dressing in attire that represents their country or cultural pride.
