Choreographed works inspired by artworks on view take center stage as Miami DanceMakers presents new performances throughout the galleries of Pérez Art Museum Miami.
Miami DanceMakers 2025 Performances take place Thursday, October 2, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 4, featuring premieres by Giovanni Castellon, Deja Darbonne and Luiza Lamoglia. The showcase marks the culmination of a six-month residency program that supports emerging choreographers with mentorship, workshops and creative partnerships across Miami’s performing arts community. Free with RSVP; admission is first come, first served and not guaranteed.
About the performers

Giovanni Castellon studied at New World School of the Arts and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he earned a BFA in contemporary dance. His choreography has been presented at Peridance Presents, the SoloDuo Dance Festival and the Dumbo Dance Festival.

Deja Darbonne is a Miami-based choreographer and movement teacher whose work blends classical tradition with contemporary expression. A graduate of New World School of the Arts, she has performed with Ballet Hispanico II, Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami and Syncopate Collective.

Luiza Lamoglia is a multimedia dance artist exploring improvisation, theatrics and voice. A graduate of SUNY Purchase, she has performed works by Beth Gill, Michael Cole and Rosalind Newman, and is a member of Miami’s Syncopate Collective.
