An immersive comedy cabaret at Tropical Park celebrates the legacy of legendary Cuban comedian Álvarez Guedes through live performance, music and theatrical storytelling. Muerto de Risa, presented on select dates from April 28 through May 31, invites audiences into a multi-environment experience inspired by the humor and cultural impact of one of Latin comedy’s most influential voices.
The production unfolds across interactive spaces that evoke the atmosphere of a classic Cuban cabaret. Blending stand-up comedy, live music and theatrical storytelling, the experience draws audiences into scenes inspired by Guedes’ career and the cultural world that shaped his distinctive style.
Álvarez Guedes, often called the “godfather of Latin comedy,” built an international following through decades of recordings and performances known for their distinctly Cuban humor, everyday observations and sharp wit. His comedy albums and live appearances became staples of Cuban and Latino households across the United States and Latin America.
Presented in a custom-built venue at Tropical Park, the limited-run production combines immersive staging with a lively social atmosphere, offering audiences a shared night of laughter, nostalgia and cultural connection.
