MUVE City Nature Challenge BioBlitz
Apr 26, 2026
From: 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM
A guided morning nature walk invites participants to document coastal wildlife while contributing to a global community science effort.
MUVE City Nature Challenge BioBlitz takes place Sunday, April 26 at Virginia Key Beach North Point, presented by the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. The event is part of the international City Nature Challenge, a bioblitz-style initiative that encourages people in cities around the world to observe and record plants and wildlife using the iNaturalist platform.
Participants will explore Virginia Key’s diverse coastal habitats while learning how to identify and document species in real time. Observations submitted during the BioBlitz contribute to South Florida’s overall City Nature Challenge totals and support ongoing scientific research related to urban biodiversity, invasive species and environmental change.
