MUVE Volunteer Workday
Jul 19, 2025
From: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Spend your morning helping restore one of Miami’s coastal ecosystems while contributing to community science efforts. This volunteer workday offers participants the chance to support local habitat health by planting native vegetation and removing marine debris—all while learning about the importance of dune systems and shoreline conservation.
The MUVE Volunteer Workday will take place on Saturday, July 19 at the Crandon Park Visitor and Nature Center on Key Biscayne. In partnership with Miami-Dade County’s Miami EcoAdventures, volunteers will plant sea oats to stabilize beach dunes and take part in a beach cleanup focused on collecting data that supports ongoing environmental monitoring. Tools and supplies will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes and dress for outdoor work in sun-exposed and sandy conditions.
Check-in details and the exact meeting location will be shared via email prior to the event. Free parking is available for registered volunteers, and community service hours are offered for those who need documentation. Participation requires completion of both the Frost Science and Miami-Dade County waivers, which are included in the registration process.
This workday is part of MUVE (Museum Volunteers for the Environment), a program from the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science that engages the public in hands-on coastal habitat restoration across Miami.
