New Wave Night: Ordinary Boys
Jul 03, 2026
Starting: 9:00 PM
’80s new wave, dance-floor singalongs and a live tribute to The Smiths and Morrissey set the tone for a late-night event at Sweet Liberty in Miami Beach. New Wave Night: Ordinary Boys takes place Friday, July 3 at 9 p.m. at the Collins Park-area cocktail bar and restaurant. The evening features Ordinary Boys, a Florida tribute band dedicated to recreating the sound and catalog of Morrissey and The Smiths.
Formed in Miami in 2010 by vocalist AJ Navarrete, Ordinary Boys takes its name from “The Ordinary Boys,” a song from Morrissey’s debut solo album, Viva Hate. The band’s sets typically include favorites such as “How Soon Is Now?,” “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out,” “This Charming Man,” “Panic,” “Ask” and “Suedehead.”
Located near The Bass in Miami Beach, Sweet Liberty is known for cocktails, creative American food and a lively late-night setting. Age restrictions, if any, should be confirmed through the event organizer or venue.
