Elinor Carucci has spent more than three decades capturing intimate, personal imagery that explores the rawness and beauty of lived experience. In this lecture, part of the Arnold and Augusta Newman Lecture Series in Photography, she reflects on both editorial projects and long-term bodies of work, including Closer, Diary of a Dancer, Mother and Midlife, all united by a profound inquiry into emotional landscapes and human connection.
This event takes place Thursday, November 13 at the Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami.
Elinor Carucci was born in Jerusalem and has lived in New York since 1995. Her photographs have been exhibited worldwide and are included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the International Center of Photography, the Brooklyn Museum and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. She has published several acclaimed monographs and has received prestigious honors, including the International Center of Photography Infinity Award. Carucci is also a faculty member in the photography department at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
