Newman Lecture Series ft. Elinor Carucci: Intimacy
Nov 13, 2025
From: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The Lowe Art Museum presents the Arnold and Augusta Newman Lecture Series in Photography with Elinor Carucci: Intimacy. For more than three decades, Carucci has built a practice centered on the vulnerable, unguarded moments of daily life, using photography to explore themes of family, identity, and personal transformation. In this lecture, she reflects on both her editorial projects and long-term series—including Closer, Diary of a Dancer, Mother, and Midlife—all of which examine how photography can capture the rawness and beauty of lived experience.
Elinor Carucci is an award-winning photographer whose work has been exhibited internationally and published in The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, and TIME, among others. Her images are held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the International Center of Photography, and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. Originally from Jerusalem, she lives and works in New York City, where she is also a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts.
