Norwegian Viking Row
Jul 10, 2026
Two demonstrations: 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM
Norwegian soccer fans bring their viral Viking Row chant to Ocean Drive for a World Cup fan gathering in Miami Beach. Norwegian Viking Row takes place Friday, July 10 at Ocean Drive and 5th Street, with demonstrations scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The free public experience invites locals and visitors to take part in the faux rowing maneuver that has become a signature celebration among Norway supporters.
The “ro” chant was created by members of Oljeberget Supporterklubb, Norway’s official supporters’ club, and requires no equipment or instructions. Participants simply sit down, grasp an imaginary oar and row along with the crowd’s rhythm.
The demonstrations are part of Miami Beach’s World Cup fan programming as Norway prepares to face England in the quarterfinals. Brief remarks from Miami Beach officials are expected before the afternoon row, and the city will also host a separate watch party later that day in Lummus Park for the Belgium vs. Spain quarterfinal.
