Opening Reception: Haiti Through Two Eyes
Jun 19, 2025
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Explore the dual perspectives of two influential Haitian creatives through photography and mixed media at this opening night event. Presented as the first exhibition of the iWitness: Global Borderless Caribbean Initiative, the show brings together documentary images by photojournalist Carl-Philippe Juste and evocative works by artist Edouard Duval-Carrié.
The Opening Reception: Haiti Through Two Eyes takes place Thursday, June 19 at the Green School Gallery (SIPA 1) on the Florida International University campus. The exhibition offers a layered look at Haitian identity, culture and history through the personal and political lenses of both artists.
Curated by Juste and organized by the Public Humanities Lab, the event is co-sponsored by the Václav Havel Program for Human Rights & Democracy and the Dorothea Green Lecture Series. Admission is free and open to the public.
