Orchestra Miami invites you to their Virtual Happy Hour Concert!

This free, virtual performance will feature Elissa Lakofsky, flute and Deborah Fleisher, harp. You can tune-in to the Happy Hour LIVE via Zoom or catch the performance on Facebook Live.

Elissa Lakofsky’s professional career began with an appointment in the Chicago Civic Orchestra, the training orchestra of the Chicago Symphony. Since arriving in South Florida, Ms. Lakofsky has performed as Principal Flute in many of the highest profile Miami orchestras including Orchestra Miami, the Florida Grand Opera, Miami City Ballet, and the Florida Symphonic Pops. Ms. Lakofsky is a much sought after clinician and instructor and currently teaches at both Florida International University and Florida Atlantic University.

Deborah Fleisher is a third-generation harpist, having begun her studies with her grandmother, Nettie Druzinsky. Her uncle, Edward Druzinsky, was principal harpist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for forty-two seasons. Her sister and brother are also harpists (her brother Dickie has been Principal Harp of the Naples Philharmonic in Florida for 38 years). Deborah attended the Curtis Institute of Music and the Peabody Institute of Music of the Johns Hopkins University where she studied with Marilyn Costello and Ruth Inglefield respectively. She has extensive experience performing Ballet and Opera, having held principal positions with Baltimore Opera and Florida Grand Opera. Currently, she is principal Harp with the Maryland Lyric Opera and Miami City Ballet.

Next week’s Happy Hour concert will be with Mei Mei Luo, violin & Ashley Garritson, cello.
