PAMM Art Storytime: Hearts, Spirits, and Home
May 23, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
A family-oriented art program introduces children and caregivers to Haitian-inspired storytelling through the work of artist Kathia St. Hilaire at Pérez Art Museum Miami. Taking place Saturday, May 23, PAMM Art Storytime: Hearts, Spirits, and Home is part of the museum’s Haitian Heritage Month programming.
The session centers on St. Hilaire’s artwork Marassa Twins, guiding participants through themes of home, identity and protection. Families are invited to explore symbolic elements within the piece, including references to the Marassa Twins, a protective spirit in Haitian culture, and Erzulie Dantor, a maternal figure associated with care and resilience.
Designed for younger audiences, the program encourages conversation and observation through storytelling and discussion. Admission is free with RSVP for the first 50 guests, and advance registration is required due to limited space.
