A tribute to community, memory and cultural resilience unfolds with the launch of a new zine inspired by Miami’s Little Haiti.
Querido Pequeño Haiti by Oolite Arts studio resident Diana Larrea takes place Saturday, August 2 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Oolite Arts Satellite Space. Part of EXILE’s Zine Machine series, this newspaper-style publication builds on Larrea’s experimental short documentary—an homage to a neighborhood in transition, shaped by personal history and collective memory.
The event begins with a screening of short films honoring Haitian and Peruvian heritage, followed by Larrea’s film and the official release of the zine. A moderated discussion and Q&A with EXILE founder Amanda Keeley closes the evening, offering space for community dialogue and artistic reflection. Street parking available.
